Many of the Buildings in the Lace Market were strongly associated with the Textile Trade, the most influential in creating the Lace Market as we know it today were Thomas Adams and Richard Birkin. The Birkin Building, which was saved from demolition in the 1960s, has, in recent years, had refurbishment completed which revealed much about the building’s history.
