A chance to see the film ‘Mills, Machines and Memories’ produced by Mansfield Museum in 2017 about the town’s textile heritage.
Produced to celebrate the culmination of the 2017 Mansfield Museum project ‘Made in Mansfield’, the film explores recorded memories from workers and takes a look at the creation of the textile installation of ‘Memory Socks’ by Mansfield artist Clare Taylor. The Memory Socks are now in a permanent home at Mansfield Museum.
Screened as part of the Textile Tales Project contribution to Heritage Open Days, Textile Tales is a National Lottery Heritage Funded project to collect and share oral histories from the region’s former textile workers.
The film has a running time of 32 minutes and there will be complimentary refreshments available afterwards.
